The Beauty Ideal - Beauty Ideals in USA

In USA they have many beauty-competitions. These competitions are specially for young womans, but there're also competitions for teenagers and small girls down to only 6 years. The competitions happens both national and international. There are competitions for each state in USA, there are teenage-competions and there're competitions named "Miss Mini" and "Little Miss Perfect". If you win the competition in your state, you come further to the "Miss USA" and if you win this you come to "Miss World".

The contestants in the beauty-competitions are oft wearing beautyful dresses, one-piece bathing suits and a lot of make-up. When they win a competition they get a tiara and a pageant sashes. The pageant sashes says what you won.

They also have many tv-programs in USA about beauty. For example "America's next top model" and "True beauty". The persons, who are in these programs, are idols for many young womans. Then they see these "beautyful" womans in tv-programs, they think that they have to look like the tv-idols, because in the tv-programs they tells that the tv-idols are beautyful.

Plastic surgery

Plastic surgery is medical, it can be rebuilding of form and function. Though cosmetic or beauty surgery is the best known kind of plastic surgery and very popular in USA.

Most plastic surgery is not cosmetic, like plastic surgery can contains many types of reconstructive surgery. There is hand surgery, microsurgery, and the treatment of injuries.

Is it necessary to have someone cutting in your skin to make you look beautiful? No it’s not, and that’s why
it’s not a thing to be proud of, because they want you to think that is there real nose, or real bobbies.

I think plastic surgery and breast implants are fine for people who want that, if it makes them feel better about who they are. But it makes these people, actors specially, fantasy figures for a fantasy world. They act to be beautiful.

It can also go the wrong way. And then you won’t look that beautiful.

Sharon Osbourne about plastic surgery:

“If anybody says their facelift doesn't hurt, they're lying. It was like I'd spent the night with an axe murderer.”
