Barack Hussein Obama is born on the 4th of August in the year 1961, in Honolulu on Hawaii. When Obama was 2 years old his mother and father was separated. 4 years afterwards his mother was remarriage with an Indonesian man, and then the family moved to Indonesia. 4 years later the marriage ended, and Obama moved in with his grandparents on Hawaii. Obama continued in school on Hawaii.
After high school, Obama was granted a scholarship at Occidental College, in Los Angeles. After two years he was transferred to Columbia where he studied political science. Obama tells that it was a time whit many party's end where he experimenter whit marijuana and cocaine. After graduating, he moved to Chicago where he worked in a church-based community organization. In late 1988 he attended Harvard University where he studied law.
Barack Obama’s dad, Barack Hussein Obama, Senior, died when Barack Obama, Junior was 21years old; he died in a car crash in Kenya. His mother died of cancer in 1995.
Barack Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996. Afterwards he gained bipartisan for his health care law; he also sponsored a law that gave higher tax credits for low-income households. He also negotiated the welfare reform, and promoted more money for childcare. He was then reelected in 1998.
On February 10, 2007, Obama announced his candidacy for president of the United States in front of the Old State Capitol building in Illinois. The choice of the announcement site was viewed as symbolic because it was also where Abraham Lincoln incurred his historic House Divided speech in 1858. Obama emphasized the issues of rapidly ending the Iraq War, increasing energy independence, and providing universal health care, in a campaign that projected themes of "hope" and "change".
Barack Obama was selected as the first African American in the history of America. Obama was selected as the 44th President, and Joe Biden as Vice President, in January the 20th in 2009.
