Jesse Ryan Blog - A Puerto Rico Luxury Yacht Charter
Luxury Yacht Charter Caribbean style

When you are considering a Caribbean vacation, Puerto Rico is strongly recommended. It is a country that is rich in history and very friendly towards holidaymakers.

Puerto Rico is a commonwealth territory of the United States. Tourists from the U.S. do not need a passport to visit. Spanish is the primary language, but English is spoken widely. The Caribbean island of Puerto Rico is approximately 110 miles long and 40 miles wide. Some of the primary places you may want to see when visiting Puerto Rico are:

Old San Juan
You will find cobblestone roads and many wonderful shops. There are restaurants serving traditional Puerto Rican foods and the best Puerto Rican coffee. Visit the El Morro which is an old fort where the first shots of World War 1 were fired. See the entrance where Spanish Conquistadors arrived into the island. A great book written about this city is titled: San Juan: The Walled City, La Ciudad Amurallada.

El Yunque Rainforest

This rainforest is located in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. It is the only rainforest managed by the United States Forest Service. You will find beautiful waterfalls, hiking trails and you may even see one of the endangered parrots that reside in the forest. Listen for the sounds of the coqui , which are tiny frogs that make Puerto Rico their home.

Culebra
Off the East coast of Puerto Rico is the small island of Culebra. It is a pueblo of Puerto Rico. Easily accessible when you are aboard a luxury yacht. The captain of your boat will be best placed to advise on tours and such like, see here for more details. You can swim in crystal blue waters. It is an amazing place. You may also want to go out at night to one of the bio-luminescent bays. You can see the water light up in different colors. It is delightful.

Arecibo Telescope
This is one of the biggest telescopes in the world. It has even been featured in some movies including at least one James Bond movie. This telescope was used to send messages to see if we received answers from outer space. Supposedly no answers have come back, or have they?

Puerto Rico has so much to offer. This is just a bit of the wonderful things to see on the Caribbean island. You can eat freash grown papaya, mangoes, bananas, or even chew on pure sugar cane.

Yes, the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico awaits you. Come by cruise ship, or take a flight. Either way, you will be welcomed with open arms.
