»Kunstmaleriet i den Digitale Tidsalders Æra« (For English scroll down)
Kunstudstillingen »Pixels
traditionelle fysiske maleri – anno post-MM.
»Pixels and Patches« er denne fortsatte udfordring. ...

»The Work of Art in the Digital Age«
The art exhibition »Pixels and Patches« explores the justification and status of the traditional physical painting in a digital age.
In the digital era it will be natural – even compelling – to question the traditional painting and its legitimacy: Can the artist of today at all in a meaningful way find colour fluids and rub it in and out and onto a stretched canvas-sack? … It has been seen in days of old and away!
The paintings of »Pixels and Patches« are interlinked with the art philosophical essay »The Painted Work of Art in the Age of the Digital era« (2011). It probes the terrain between the virtual picture and the traditional physical painting – anno post-MM.
The question being:
Has the painting become a thing of the past, an antiquity, a relic or artefact from the archives of art history? – Will the painted work of art in the future only be of historical interest in the evolution of art and its continuous emancipation from its origin? … No, the physical painting can and will!
Ever since the cave-morning of Cro-Magnon has man painted and decorated with colour solutions – in a continuous renewal, crystallizing the spirit and technique of each époque. »Pixels and Patches« is the most recent manifestation of this incessant challenge. … Do not fear the pixel, say I!
The »Pixels and
Patches« exhibition consists of twenty landscape paintings which depict the
Danish countryside in its most intense and expressionistic colours such as:
root-fraying-heather-hills, edge-orange-dawn, opium-red-rash-of-fields,
cornflower-flashing-wheat-squares, winter-hard-setting-sun and sombre-green-background-forest. … All
in an aesthetical and philosophical confrontation with the artistic atomical unit
of our time and to come: the pixel!
