Beer, Bourbon And Bbq

Anyone who follows my blogs or articles knows I emphasize healthy home cooked meals over fast food for busy families. Your slow cookers and/or crockpots make it so easy to feed your family healthy, tasty, and inexpensive meals at home. So get out your cooker and try one of these recipes this week; French-Style Pork Stew and Ham and Rice Stuffed Bell Peppers.

I dug into my fries and coleslaw first, which were decent but nothing really spectacular. My pioneer woman pulled pork had some really nice lean meat and did not cinch on the portion. Still, the meat itself could've used some kind of sauce, as it was a bit dry.

This restaurant is located inside the Embassy Suites Hotel in Downtown San Diego across from the Embarcadero, the Pacific Fish Company's casual atmosphere and delicious menu plant it firmly on my top 10 list. Their sushi bar is the best I have found in San Diego and variety of beer always brings me back. They serve fresh seafood but also have burgers in a generous portions with an array of cheeses. The fries were just the way I liked them; crispy. And if you want, you can watch one of their 10 (or so) TV's while you eat the best sushi in San Diego... or anywhere!

Prepare the smoker. Liberally oil the grate. Add hickory wood chunks to the hot coals, and try to keep the temperature around 220 to 230 degrees. Place a meat thermometer (one that is used for staying in the meat while cooking) in the center of the butt. Add the meat to the smoker and put on lid. Don't remove the lid of the smoker as it will decrease the temperature and will take longer slow cooker pulled pork to cook.

As a working Mom sometimes I do not arrive home from work until 6:30. On those nights I will either throw a meal in the slow cooker before I leave for work or leave directions for the babysitter to put the casserole or meatloaf in the oven at 5:00. Then when my husband arrives home at 6:00, dinner is hot, ready and the house smells delicious.
