Orange County Schools Native American Pro-gram
Orange County Schools have taken an active role in the devel-oping quality programs for all their members of their diverse student population. One program that has been produced is aimed at helping student performance and improving instructional opportunities for students of Native American history. In order to better achieve these aims the Orange County Schools Indigenous American Parent Advisory Committee was created. The Indigenous American Parent Advisory Board acts under Title VII federal tips. It is composed of eight members; six elected members and two non-elected positions. I-t satisfies this goal: by providing services in helping Native American students to meet Orange County Schools effectiveness standards; by ensuring that Native American students partake in their school's Federal, State and local plans as regarded necessary; by providing employment activities and family liaison services to meet the culturally relevant educational needs of Native American students; and by providing professional development opportunities to ensure that staff are properly educated and ready to do assist Native American students.
Local American Parent Advisory Committees Senior Identification Night
Annually the Indigenous American Parent Advisory Board identifies graduating seniors from Orange County Schools. The function contains speakers, products, contributions, community sponsorship and a Native American party demonstration. A fresh sponsor with this years program will be the L.A. Dodgers baseball team. Senior Recognition Night honors these students of Indigenous American heritage who have worked to excel in academic achievement within Orange County Schools. Senior Recognition Night is also a means for the Native American Parent Advisory Committee to connect with the community and identify the families of these students.
