My favorite show on The Food Network is Healthy Appetite with Ellie Krieger. It seems to be the only Food Network show focused on meals for health-minded home cooks. Ellie is a registered dietitian and author of a cookbook called "The Food You Crave," which I love. Her meals are both beautiful and delicious. It's a book I keep coming back to again and again when I am in the kitchen.

Dinner is my favorite meal to order at The Wave. I have had almost everything on the menu. My favorite is the braised chicken Pot Pie. It is made with tender pieces of dark and white meat, peas, mushrooms, and carrots, topped with a piece of flaky, thyme pastry. It is very tasty and filling. It is priced at $19.99. All other items range in price from $17.99 to 28.99. Appetizers and sides are offered too. Try the black bean chili appetizer or a side of the stewed mushrooms or wilted rainbow chard.

Another thing you might consider doing is try not watching so much TV and also consider not using the computers in your home as often. Get together with your family and try to come up with other things to do besides things that have to do with electronics. This might be tough but you might think it's kind of fun to get outside once and a while and play with the kids. It's also healthier in the long run.

I think we should have knock-down, drag-out chili cook-off. (My family can be quite competitive). The best cooker to use is of course a all clad slow cooker coq au vin slow cooker. A small bottle of bay leaves from the spice section of my store retailed for $3.99. I purchased an entire bag of bay leaves (they are feather light), and paid 25 cents!! I save my old spice bottles and refill them with the spices that I buy in bulk, by the pound. Not only are these spices cheaper, they are usually fresher. My bay leaves look green and fresh, while the bottled bay leaves looked a bit dried out and light green and even brownish in color.

Don't leave coq au vin accompaniments ordering dessert. The dessert offerings are served as mini trios. I recommend the Crispy and Crunchy. It's vanilla-braised pineapple spears, almond-pineapple-raisin baklava, and zucchini carrot cake with vanilla panna cotta. All 3 are heavenly, and leave your taste buds wanting more. There is also a sorbet trio that serves as a lighter dessert offering.
